Fabrics

do you have a different fabric in mind? Or want to provide your own fabric? book a discovery call with one of our talented style consultants for complimentary advice or order a sample pack.

  • Vacuum on a regular basis (we recommend weekly) with an upholstery attachment, and plump as needed.

For small stains, you can spot clean by blotting with a light-coloured, damp cloth. For larger stains, we recommend contacting a professional upholstery cleaner.

  • Avoid placing upholstery in direct sunlight to minimise fading or discolouration.

Be mindful that depending on the fabric, pilling or crushing may occur with wear.

  • Every size of headboard and fabric type requires a different quantity of material. For example, if you have a directional fabric which will need to be joined, you will need to the quantity we recommend plus one pattern repeat.

All fabrics must comply with Fire Regulation BS5852 for Cigarette & Match.

When sending us your material, either from yourself or directly from your supplier, please include the following details:

    1. Attach your name

    2. Attach your order reference number, which you will receive via email after placing your order

    3. Indicate the correct side of the fabric

    4. And finally, the address you need to send your fabric to is: Studio Gabrielle, Unit 9, Quarry Farm, Cartworth Moor Road, Cartworth, Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, HD9 2QS

We will confirm receipt of your fabric when it arrives with us. On receipt of your fabric, we will contact you to confirm receipt and for further instructions if required. Your order will be released into production.

  • When a material is printed, it is printed with a pattern repeat along the length of the roll. The vertical pattern repeat relates to the distance between where the pattern starts, ends and appears again.

If your chosen material has a pattern repeat of 4 cm, for example, and we ask for 1 extra pattern repeat, we would need an extra 4 cm to be able to join the patterns correctly.

Similarly, if your pattern repeat is 68 cm and 1 extra pattern repeat is needed, we would need an extra 68 cm.

If your material has a directional pattern, we will ask you to confirm your pattern direction to ask your preference.

  • Upholstery fabric is usually around 145 cm wide (usable width). In many cases, this means the front of your headboard exceeds the width of the material and so your fabric will need to be joined to make it wide enough to cover the headboard.

This does mean that there will be seams visible on the front of your headboard if your material has a directional pattern.

If you are sending a plain fabric that can be used on its side, no joins will be seen on the front face of your headboard.

We ask for one extra pattern repeat so that we can perfectly align the edges of the material to match the pattern across the panels.
